Manyabasti is an Ayurvedic therapy specifically designed to address issues related to the cervical spine (neck region). This treatment involves the retention of warm medicated oil on the neck area using a dough ring. Manyabasti is highly beneficial for conditions such as cervical spondylitis, stiff neck, neck pain, and nerve compression. The therapy helps reduce pain, stiffness, and inflammation, while also improving the flexibility of the neck.
Our Experience
An Ayurvedic practitioner will assess the patient’s condition, overall health, and dosha imbalances to determine the appropriateness of Manyabasti therapy. It is often recommended for chronic neck pain, cervical spine disorders, and associated symptoms such as headaches and nerve compression.
Preparation (Purvakarma): The therapy usually begins with Abhyanga (oil massage) and Swedana (herbal steam therapy) to relax the muscles and improve circulation in the neck region.
Administration:
Number of Sessions: Depending on the severity of the condition, the number of sessions may vary, typically ranging from 7 to 14 days, with daily or alternate-day treatments.
Post-Treatment Care: After Manyabasti, the oil is massaged gently into the neck area, followed by rest. Patients are advised to avoid strain on the neck and follow dietary and lifestyle guidelines to support the healing process.
